Fly On The Wall In The Garden Of Weedin'
Welcome to another edition of Fly On The Wall group blog postings, hosted by Karen of Baking In A Tornado. Today, 4 bloggers are welcoming you into their homes for a sneak peek at what goes on behind closed doors.
Things have been pretty quiet around here because it's too hot outside to do much of anything after work but watch Netflix. And of course, COVID. Nobody wants to be out and about in public places. I'm just glad my family lives down here so we can see each other every weekend and be bored together! I'm breaking out of here next month, though. I need to stare at something besides my pugs and the beer pong marathons that take place here every weekend. At least I have a husband who still keeps me entertained with his quirky comeback comments......
I swear y'all, he has no reason not to trust me. I

19 Back-to-School Crafts to Prepare Kids for School in an Exciting, Fun Way
As classes will soon be starting in a few weeks, some kids may feel excited about it, but others may feel bummed that all the fun of their summer vacation will soon end. Others may even feel conflicted with both feelings.
would be back-to-school crafts.
Back-to-School Crafts: Kids Would Enjoy Doing and Love Using
While we can't make the days move faster nor move slower, in the meantime, kids can cope by doing fun back-to-school crafts. Kids who can't wait for the coming school year can have a little back-to-school activity that can keep them occupied before the school year actually starts. These crafts can also cheer up the kids who are bummed about the summer fun ending and make them realize that the coming school year, too, has a lot of fun in store for them.
Kids would enjoy doing these back-to-school crafts. And they would love
Creating back-to-school crafts is also something kids can enjoy doing with their parents. It can be a means of bonding time for them. And it's not a very costly activity, as the materials needed to do these crafts are either only affordable, already available at home, or recyclable.
There are a variety of back-to-school crafts you can do, whether it's creating or designing school supplies for achieving more personal touches or creating keepsakes for commemorating the beginning of the school year. You can find them here in this article.
But if you have a little pre-K or kindergarten student and wish for less complicated back-to-school crafts, there are simple but also fun crafts on here, too, that your little one can do with your assistance. The pre-K and kindergarten crafts are more on preparing pre-K and kindergarten students for school. But if you think your little one can manage with the other crafts, you and your little one are free to enjoy creating them.
Read further to check out the various back-to-school crafts that have been prepared in this article for kids and parents to enjoy. You might find some crafts you may want to do or maybe get some inspiration from and make something more your own according to your liking. Each featured craft has a link provided for redirecting to the demonstration of the procedure. So when a craft appeals to you, just click on its link and get crafting.
School Supplies
Storages and Organizers
If your kid loves eating pizza, then they might also love to store their writing and coloring materials in this pizza pencil case. Putting together this pencil case is very easy. Sewing isn't even required. You simply have to draw the parts of the pizza pencil case on some felt, cut them out, and glue gun them together along with velcro strips for closure.
For more storage space and a more fruity design, you can go with the watermelon pencil box. This pencil box comes with three separate compartments and dividers too. So a kid can put so many pens, pencils, markers, crayons, and other school supplies in it, and they all can be kept well organized.
This pencil box can actually be made with only cardboard, a recycled one even. But when designed with watermelon details and a cute little face using colored paper, the result is adorable.
Every student could need a pen holder. But the bicycle pen holder is an awesome decorative pen holder that kids would definitely love, especially those who love biking.
This is made mostly of rolled recycled paper and cardboard held together with glue, but it's sturdy enough to contain writing and coloring materials and other school supplies. The procedure for this is only simple, involving some cutting and rolling pieces of paper using a barbeque stick, flattening a couple of rolled paper, assembling the bike figure and container, painting it with colors preferred, and making final touches with beads.
Don't throw away tin cans after emptying them. The tin cans that once contained your food can be recycled for organizing pens, pencils, markers, crayons, paintbrushes, etc. You can give tin cans a new purpose and a new look by applying some decorations on them like scrapbook paper, beads, etc., and assembling them side by side with a glue gun to create an aesthetic organizer.
Popsicle Sticks Bookmarks
Disney Princesses Popsicle Sticks Bookmarks
Disney princesses are loved by most girls. If you have a little Disney princesses fan, the Disney princesses popsicle sticks bookmarks would be perfect for her. For sure, she’d love painting the Disney princesses on popsicle sticks and using the popsicle sticks as bookmarks.
Minions and Hulk Popsicle Sticks Bookmarks
Boys aren't left out on the fun of painting on popsicle sticks. As there are also the Minions and Hulk popsicle sticks bookmarks perfect for them, whether they are fans of the funny Minions or the strong Hulk.
Pencil Popsicle Sticks Bookmarks
If you'd rather opt for popsicle sticks bookmarks that are more school-themed, there are the pencil popsicle sticks bookmarks. Or for a more colorful set of bookmarks, you can make crayon popsicle sticks bookmarks instead.
Notebook Decor
Monsters aren't always under kids’ beds to scare the kids. Sometimes, they can be kids' cute study buddies, like the monsters in these fuzzy monsters notebooks. They're super cute notebooks designed using yarn, ribbons, felt, and cardboard. The process would require a little patience and careful crafting, but the results are fantastic.
If you find the aforementioned notebook design too complicated, there are also easier designs that are just as aesthetic like the cute panda design, otherworldly unicorn design, fascinating laboratory flasks design, etc. Each design also only requires a few materials, some even recyclable.
Binder Covers
With the different designs that washi tapes come in, they would be great for decorating binders with different patterns. Just get some washi tapes with designs you like that would look good together. Then you would be sticking them side by side on a stock board that is cut accordingly to fit on every side of the binder.
Backpack Decor
The yarn backpack keychains are striking accessories that can add more aesthetic to a backpack with their colorfulness and cute, fluffy designs. All that is needed for this craft are some yarn, embroidery floss, pom-pom balls, needle, thread, and keychain rings. This craft's procedure only involves some snips, yarn
You can make any plain backpack look more interesting by adding these backpack patches. Designing these patches can be done using denim, even recycled ones, and textile paint.
When making a design, you'd have to apply the paint on the denim's lighter side. When your designs have dried, you'd stick pins on the other side of the patches using liquid silicone for attaching them to a backpack. Or you may also attach them using an iron-on adhesive.
Another way to customize a plain backpack is by using a variety of affordable materials like textile paint, gold foil, faux fur, and even thumbtacks. Yes, you can design a backpack with thumbtacks too, like turning them into studs. You'll just have to fold away its sharp part and run a glue gun over it to add coverage for safety. I'm talking about some of the most popular DIY backpack designs such as the watercolor backpack, studded and faux fur straps backpack, and gold foil backpack.

Popsicle Sticks School Bus Picture Frame
We may often post pictures on social media. But for a change, why not also try creating a popsicle sticks school bus picture frame for your kid's first day of school photos so they can be displayed at your home too. You may even do this every start of a new school year.
This photo frame can be easily made by sticking together some colored popsicle sticks to make the school bus shape. Or if you want, you may even paint the popsicle sticks yourself. Then you'd add pink foam paper for the bus lights as a final touch.
Moreover, this can be stuck on metal if you put a magnet at the back. Or you may also attach at the back of the frame another popsicle stick that has been cut accordingly to make it stand.
The back-to-school photo prop is something that can make taking your kid's first day of school photo much more fun. And creating it is just as fun too. It's a wooden frame decorated with some sidewalk chalk, some wooden letters, and a little chalkboard. It requires much careful effort though. But it is an awesome prop that can be used for taking photos for the first day of school every year.
Easy Crafts for Pre-K and Kindergarten Kids to Enjoy
Super easy to create for little kids, the paper backpack only requires cutting out some shapes to create different parts of a backpack and attaching them to a paper bag. It also allows you to recycle paper bags from your last shopping if you have some. With the finished product, kids can play pretend they're at school, fill the backpack with their vocabulary, and even store their review materials.
Back-to-School Bus Paper Chain Countdown
The back-to-school bus paper chain countdown can represent the number of days remaining before the start of classes, making kids aware of the nearing of classes and allowing them to become better prepared when it comes. It is made with colored paper to form a school bus and paper chains attached at the bus's bottom, which can be hung on a wall. When a day has passed, a piece of the paper chain can be removed, and the remaining pieces would represent the remaining days.
If you're fond of creating cute crafts that involve recycling, another great option that allows you to recycle is the school bus discovery bottle. Through this craft, you can transform a recycled or upcycled bottle into a discovery bottle with a bus design.
The bottle would be filled with yellow colored paper that had been cut up into tiny pieces or any other yellow things you can find even. Once it has been filled, you can add the finishing touches on the outer part of the bottle to fully achieve a bus design.
Conclusion
Whether your kid can't wait for classes to start, feels bummed that summer is ending, or both, a good and not

When Alltrue reached out to me to try their products, I was happy to do so once I saw all the wonderful things they were offering to send. First, let me say that the box itself is really pretty and super sturdy---the kind of box I can use for storing all sorts of things in an attractive, organized way. Here is a list of items that came in the summer box I received:
1.
2. Eco Eyewear--Avala Tortoise Cateye Sunglasses. Love, love, LOVE these stylish, lightweight glasses! I've been wearing them every time I go out and have received tons of compliments. They protect my eyes and flatter my face shape. Excellent!
3. Pepper + Vetiver--Set of 3 Nesting Bowls. Oh my goodness, these bowls are practical and look beautiful on my dinner table when I use them as serving dishes.
4. Sanctuary Project--Thick Gold Hoops. These are my comfortable, go-to earrings. Since they are small hoops, I use them whenever I wear my hair in a ponytail or bun.
5. Volim--Love Scrub. This amazing Microderm exfoliant is a 3-in-1 scrub with Hyaluronic, Red Tea, and Seaweed. My skin feels as smooth as a baby's butt after using it!
6. Adesse New York-- Power Couple Nail Care Duo. This is a nail growth optimizer and cuticle oil duo. I just started using it, so it will be a bit before I see any results. Otherwise, I think it will work well on my nails because right now they need a lot of help.

Will Menopause Fatigue Last Forever?
Will Menopause Fatigue Last Forever?

“There will be plenty of time to sleep when you are dead.” — Benjamin Franklin
Yikes! I’m sorry Benjamin Franklin, you may have been one of the greatest inventors and writers of American history, but
Sleep is literally the superfood that has the most impact. The true nectar of life. The super fuel you need. Frankly, this is where the magic happens.
With the decline of vital hormones during menopause, sleep disturbances are very common. With the vicious cycle of sleep deprivation and
Research has found that those with higher perceived stress experienced shorter sleep durations. In fact, moderate to severe sleep deprivation produces impairments similar to alcohol intoxication, or blood alcohol levels of 0.05%.
Did you know that about 61% of menopausal women struggle with sleep issues? This means that out of every 10 women around the age of menopause, 6 will have sleeping difficulties.
And maybe you’re one of them. You head to bed, exhausted. Yet, you toss and turn all night. Or you find yourself getting up every night between the hours of 2 and 3 am, struggling to fall back asleep. You then go about your day in a fog. You just don’t have the energy to function at your peak capacity. Ugh!
Enough is enough!
3 Power Tips to Ease into Restful Sleep
1. Prioritize sleep at the top of your day
If you are a night owl, lean into that. Vice versa if you are an early bird.
Simply explained, set yourself up for sleep success. Go to bed and wake up at the same time. Be mindful of meals and excess snacking throughout your day. Limit caffeine to only before noon. Ideally, consume the least heavy meal toward the end of the day so your body has less of a detox burden during sleep. This improves energy for memory storage and creativity that you need to power through the next day. This is directly impacted by what you do and what you put in your body.
Here’s a nifty tip we often forget: adjust your supplements or medications since some may make you more drowsy versus alert. This forces your body into its natural circadian rhythm.
Sleep is maximized on a light spectrum. Quiet, cold, and dark areas are ideal. Use a sleep mask to optimize darkness. Red light or specialty sleep bulbs help reduce excess blue light exposure. Avoid sleeping with the TV on or using electronic devices at least 1-2 hours before lights out. This is vital during bedtime to help melatonin, our
3. Track your sleep
The science about sleep may be up to the physicians and researchers, but you can still arm yourself with your own personal KPI (key performance indicators). To better evaluate adjustments and modifications in your sleep, following trends is an added bonus of what technology can do. This goes a step further than just total time spent asleep; it recognizes and brings daily awareness to patterns that you may miss. It connects the missing links between sleep duration and your body’s response during sleep stages, reactions to stress, and efficiency. These key insights can help navigate making the necessary adjustments to improve productivity and memory consolidation that is a natural defense system for cognitive decline as we age.
Let’s think about what goes on during a typical day. Our brain processes millions of movements, thoughts, and patterns, most of them without our awareness. However, one of the greatest energy expenditures occurs during sleep. This is the time when our cellular mitochondria, the powerhouses in our DNA, go to work orchestrating the repair and recovery productions. These repair mechanisms are controlled by the communication of our brain and body with our natural clocks, rhythms, and hormones.
But generally, when you’re stressed, sleep and high levels of energy don’t come easy.
Stress is one factor that can impact your telomere length. Thus, stress can actually cause you to age faster (probably no surprise there) but it can also decrease your longevity. Sleep Disruptions can lead to a propensity toward obesity and metabolic disorders, and affect the extent to which we are able to express energy and harness our power to push through the next day.
The goal? You want to get your body out of this stressed state. To do so, you want to look at optimizing your biological and bedroom environment. The lack of sleep impacts your daily energy, recovery and repair mechanisms, weight loss goals, cognitive performance, and immune system.
Fatigue doesn't last forever if you are intentional about sleep. Start with these 3 steps as a foundation to sleep like
