As the U.S. and other countries begin to lift stay-at-home orders, I find myself thinking back on some of the better parts of quarantine life: the stillness in the streets, the appearance of more wildlife, crystal water, clean air, and the closeness of families in lockdown together.

Okay, so I did accomplish a few things while under quarantine. Redecorated my living room and dining room, organized a few closets, and created a new garden section with an adorable seating area by the previously unused portion on the side of my house. Oh, and I published some COVID-19 themed articles for several websites (see links below).
My social life has revolved around FaceTiming with my family and cheering one another virtually with cocktails in our hands
Now that the world is opening its doors again, I feel both fear and excitement. I'm not ready to venture out in public yet (and not just because I'm hairy!) but I will admit that it was wonderful to finally see my family again (masked up, of course) last weekend.
The world has survived worse and we will survive this. Stay safe and stay healthy, my friends!

I too found things to enjoy while staying at home, and since I'm not venturing out yet either (cases are on the rise here), I still have time to see Schitt's Creek, which is on my "to see" list.
ReplyDeleteOh YES you have to watch it!! I will probably watch it again it is soooo good!
DeleteI love how this pandemic has brought families together. Many for the first time. I hope we retain some of that with the curtain lifting!
ReplyDeleteI do too---I hope people will always remember to be kind.
DeleteMarcia, you've been far more productive than me during shelter in place. I was good the first few weeks but soon lost interest in cleaning, reorganizing and baking. LOL. So, yeah, pajamas or yoga pants and television, that's about all that goes on here of late. I feel also the urge to go out but I will refrain and see what happens with the stats. Stay safe and love all your photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! We all deserve this "me time" to relax and get in touch with ourselves. Enjoy your quiet time! <>
DeleteI loved Schitt's Creek and was sorry to see it end last year. But there are some other really great series out there. This past week we watched Self Made - true story and so inspiring. Really enjoyed Ozark - intense. It will be coming back for its fourth season soon. And two of our favorites are coming back the end of this month. And if you like suspense, drama and noted as the best series ever - Homeland. But, again, intense!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Homeland---I'll check it out. Thanks!
DeleteThese times have brought many families closer together and I hope when it's all over they remain close. my family have always been close but Mum and I are looking forward to being allowed to go to the local shopping centre again and meet up for breakfast. Mum being 80 isn't allowed and even though I am younger because of my medical conditons my girls have said I have to stay home.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not ready to go out into the world yet....
DeleteCute masks! Yes, I've been enjoying more TV time with Amazon Prime. I have done Turn, Flesh and Bone, Bosch, and I'm currently watching Sneaky Pete. Cheers to you and your family. Stay safe and sane.
ReplyDeleteGreat shows! Stay safe!
