I'm still in a "writer's block" funk, so in the meantime, that nosey fly on the wall has seen me skimming through social media in search of something that will tickle my funny bone again. I've also been spending an inordinate amount of time creating Someecard memes from sayings I've found on the internet, and then sharing them on my Menopausal Mother Facebook fan page. If you aren't already following me there, I hope you will, because the page is a sure bet for a few giggles. I also share the work of many of my fellow humor writers there, so be sure to stop by and say hello if you have a Facebook account!
Here is a sampling of some of my latest memes that have done well on my fan page:
One of the best things that happened this past month was having my article, "Menopause Wrecked Havoc On My Marriage And Sex Life", picked up for publication by Good Housekeeping and Woman's Day. I think the article is very helpful to many menopausal women experiencing the same issues, and I hope everyone gets a chance to read it here: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/relationships/a38903/menopause-affected-my-marriage/

I love memes! Tried to make a few myself. With mixed results. Teach me!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to do the photo memes that I love so much--I need my son to teach me. But the Somee cards are super easy! I'd have to walk you thru it over the phone.
DeleteA wine glass pyramid, but of course!!! Genius :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Marcia!
Absolutely fits my food pyramid needs.
Delete"I'll never be over the hill. I'm too tired to climb it." That sounds so much like me!
ReplyDeleteYep. I'd prefer to take a nap at the base of the hill. Preferably under a good shade tree.
DeleteAwesome ecards, Marcia! I love the diet one. I see them on your facebook as I follow you there. Congrats on your article getting published! Is it in the print version of the magazines? Have a great weekend ahead and eat from that 'food' pyramid ;)
ReplyDeletePublished on their websites---Bigger audience. I never pick up magazines anymore, LOL. Everything I read is on the internet.
DeleteNo doubt, that's awesome!
DeleteThank you, Lisa!

ReplyDeleteSame here.....every damn day.
DeleteYou are missed! Write what is in your heart and your feelings, Marcia....even if it's not material for this blog. It might be therapeutic. Miss you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on that. There will be some changes here, I'm sure.
DeleteI love the memes... I get a kick out of them, they are so funny and always give me smile. xox
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again on getting published in Good Housekeeping and Woman's Day, that is so awesome, I could not be happier for you... it's so exciting. xox
Thank you, Launna! It's odd because sites like those are where I only submit NON humor, and they like it---which never ceases to surprise me! I always thought of myself as a humor writer only.
DeleteCongratulations on getting that article published in such a well-known publication. Another feather in your cap.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephen!
DeleteThese are hilarious! I can really identify. My husband wants to go hiking tomorrow... I'm sending my daughter as my stand in... no climbing over hills for me:)
ReplyDeleteHa-Ha I would do the same!
DeleteWe all miss you. I am happy for you and your inroad into Good Housekeeping and Woman's Day - stand up and take a bow.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Carol!
DeleteI love someecards, my sister is always sending them to me when I need a giggle. Although according to yours I'm hitting middle age a few years early because my body is certainly starting to break down. The traitor.
ReplyDeleteMine has been betraying me for quite some time now, hahahaha!
DeleteI love memes, I've made so many I wonder if you can get a degree in them lol ;)These made me giggle, you seem to have that affect on me. :) Have you dropped by my blog party and shared some of your wonderful posts so others can find them? Please feel free to leave as many links as you'd like, they're amazing, or promote your books, social media links, etc. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2016/06/10/cant-you-just-pretend-to-be-nice/
