Fly On The Wall In A Covid House

Welcome to another edition of Fly On The Wall group blog postings hosted by Karen of Baking In A Tornado, Today, there are three of us opening our homes to our readers for a glimpse at what goes on behind closed doors. What did the fly catch at our place? Covid, that's what. Everyone in my family has had it at one point or another including the grandbabies, but so far I have evaded it...until today, with a positive test. Husby has been home sick all week and then he generously shared his cooties with me. I woke up yesterday with a scratchy throat, runny nose, and a nasty cough. Thanks, Babe! And before you ask, YES we are fully vaxed and boosted!

This virus comes on the heels of having to say goodbye to my favorite fur baby Savi last week (you can read about it HERE) which nearly did me in emotionally. I'm still trying to grasp that my sweet girl pug companion is gone. I was trying to stay busy this week to avoid the pain of her absence, and then BAM! I got Covid!

Rather than focus on the craptastic week I've had, let me share some photos from a recent family outing in May that we had to celebrate my beautiful grandson's first birthday (the only person missing is my youngest son since he had to work a double that day and missed the party!).

By the time you read this, I'll probably be in bed with a thermometer, extra blankets, hot tea, and....well, a cheese danish would be nice. Feel free to send some my way......

  1. Beautiful family pictures, I can't believe he's already 1! I know you're vaccinated, I hope that means you won't have a bad case of Covid. Feel better soon.

  2. What a beautiful baby and family! I am so sorry for your loss and ugh the dreaded virus. My sister-in-law was visiting from out of state because another sister-in-law was on Hospice. Long story short we all got Covid (me for the 2nd time) and were devastated to miss the funeral. I was just about to start my second cycle of chemo and it had to be rescheduled. My SIL and husband got sicker than I did, surprising for all of us. I hope you and your husband are feeling better.

  3. I am so sorry that you lost your baby. You've had her a very long time. On that note I cannot believe how big your oldest granddaughter has gotten! I remember when she was a baby! Your grandson is a handsome little devil and will be heartbreaker for sure. I hope you're feeling better. Hubby had it a few weeks ago and it is no joke! I don't know how I didn't get it!

  4. Dearest Marcia,
So sorry to read about the loss of your loyal family member... Losing our fur–babies is painful and those that never had one, will not know what the actually mean as a loyal companion.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Thank you, Marietta, you get it. It has been 3 weeks and I'm still in quite a bit of pain over missing her.

  5. Oh, what joy in these photos! And YOU look beautiful, Marcia! COVID finally caught up with us as well. I spent Memorial Day weekend "in the basement." Much more fun to celebrate young birthdays!
